Google’Android makes Searching Easy Through Capable Installed Applications

October 13, 2008 By: izephyr Category: Mobile Software, Smartphone

Google has recently launched the Android based phone with T-Mobile in selected region. The phone comes preloaded with Search, Maps, Gmail with Contacts, Calendar, Google Talk, and YouTube. While Google implements these apps into the phone, their aim seems to help the users organize the information and make it universally accessible; Search is an integrated function of the phone which is easy to use and not limited to the web but also the phone itself.

This is done, by making the applications searchable. With a ‘Searchable’ application the ability to search inside the application has just become easier. For example, just starting typing will automatically open the search interface and show the respective reuslts. Even the phone includes a dedicated Search key on bottom row of the keyboard upon pressing which will enable the user to start searching immediately.

Search has also become easier with suggestions which will be displayed ‘As you type’ and the list of suggestions refines itself by selecting options will  immediately lead to that search. Developers will be glad to know that the phones API is designed to  catch up with third party developers to incorporate search into their applications. This will add more to the user experience on the go with the phone.

Plasma TVs are More Popular Now a Days

October 13, 2008 By: izephyr Category: Latest Innovations, Technology in Life

Screen technology has been rapidly changing over and over the last few years Plasma TVs begun to take over the traditional screens since Plasma’s has many advantages against the others.
This High definition display technology has been developed over the ages after its invention in 1964; however, a full colour plasma display was not available until in 1992 Fujitsu developed one based upon the plasma display created at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and NHK STRL.

Plasma displays are bright (1000 lux or higher for the module) and have a wide color gamut. The display panel can be very thin. The total thickness, in general is less than 10 cm or about 4 inches including the electronics and without the electronics it would be about 2.5 inch only. Another great feature is that Plasma displays can be very less power consuming because it uses a ‘variable’ power usage that is largely dependent on picture content; bright scenes will consume more power than darker ones.

The popularity of the display is growing because of the picture quality and its size. Plasma displays can be as large as 381 cm (150 inches) diagonally. Also, many plasma wholesaler offer a greater price which allures people to move their choices from the other TV types as this new technology display is of great quality to display content while not costing that much in comparison with its convenience.

Make the most of your Gadget’s Battery

October 07, 2008 By: izephyr Category: Technology in Life, Tips & Tricks

Battery is a very important part of your portable life because it adds life to your devices. To make the most of your devices you must know how to effectively handle your battery so that it gives you maximum performance and maximum life time.

Tip1: Most of the time try to fully charge and then fully discharge your battery, at least once every two months. The reason is that if you do not charge the and discharge the battery to the full it will assume that the amount charge and spent is it’s capacity and the battery will soon downgrade its charge capacity. Though LI-Ion batteries do not drain out by the ‘memory effect’ it is a good idea to maintain the schedule.

Tip 2: Never substitute your devices battery with a different battery type, for example if your device is of NiMH, never use a battery of other types like lithium ion or etc unless your device manual says so. Otherwise it may damage your device.

Tip 3: If you find your battery not charging you should not consider that the battery has become unusable. Just fully charge and discharge the battery two to four times which will allow the battery to reach its maximum capacity. This is strongly recommended for a new battery.

Tip 4: Keep the battery contacts clean. Always wipe the battery contacts with a cotton swab and a mild cleaner, possibly non-electrostatic. This helps maintain a good connection between the battery and the device.

Tip 5: Always try to exercise the rechargeable batteries because it may become unusual if you keep it unused for a few months. Remember that a battery has shelf-life after which the performance degrades. If you don’t plan on using the battery for a month or more, store it in a clean, dry, cool place, fully charged, away from heat and metal objects. Most battery types will self-discharge during storage and always recharge before using again. If possible, recharge the battery in a regular interval of a month or two. This will ensure that your battery remains good.

Hope these tricks will help you to make the most out of your gadgets battery which is generally rechargeable.

Pearls can be the Golds for You

October 07, 2008 By: izephyr Category: Non-Tech

In my blog earlier, I have talked about the pearls and it’s relativity to technological innovation that makes it easier to fetch pearl from deep into the sea. In fact, the beauty of pearl will allure most woman aged between 25-45.

One thing that I must mention about pearls that pearls can be a solid investment just as gold but not all pearls are as precious as some specific pearls. One of the highest grade are freshwater orient pearls which will be heavily priced in future years That’s because, freshwater pearls, especially the orient one’s are very rear. In fact, only 1 pearl if this kind can be found if 1000’s of pearls have been fetched. Scientific analysis has also confirmed that these pearls has a different physical attributes than the other types. So, it would be just a very good idea to grab some pearl jewelery , specially of this kind which will both be a beautiful ornament as well as a very good property.

Losing Metadata from Your Photos?

October 06, 2008 By: izephyr Category: Technology in Life, Tips & Tricks

A photograph generally contains a lot of information with the image file just like any other computer files which is known as Metadata. To a photograph a load of information is added like when the photograph is added or with most recent innovation, the geographical location from where the photograph was taken.

Although these information are very important and useful as well, the chance of losing the information is very high because not all file formats support storing the information in the same way or some other formats just simply does not preserve any such data. The data is lost therefore, especially while converting file format.

Metadata Working Group, a Jointly working organization of giant Adobe, Apple, Canon, Microsoft, Nokia and Sony, has introduced today the first specification for interoperability and preservation of metadata in digital photography. The specification provides the guidelines that will help to increase interoperability between file formats and work as a key to the preservation of metadata in digital photographs. According to the working group’s research, lack of metadata interoperability has led to significant frustration for both consumer and photographers especially the professional photographers.

The solution is never very easy since there are thousands of devices, services and software applications available for the purpose and the guideline is limit the practices for how, when and where metadata should be changed in popular file formats. Metadata Working Group’s initial guidelines target to still photo metadata rather than movies which identifies overlapping content between existing standards and schema as well.

The initiative to preserve metadata is a real praiseworthy step of the industry and it will be helping people to preserve the information across formats and devices with a minimal chance of losing such information about their photograph.

Is Your Home a Smart One? Give it a Digital Makeover.

October 06, 2008 By: izephyr Category: Latest Innovations, Technology in Life

As technology rises at a rapid motion, we are now familiar about some luxurious living styles which in the past would be considered as ‘impossible’. Since, time has changed and there are lot more that technology is still adding to our life to simplify our everyday work and enhance our living.

As technology touches our everyday life very closely, a ‘digital remodeling’ can transform a house into a ‘Smart Home’. So, what is this smart home? A smart home is an improved home triggered by technology in which there would be a lot of electronic devices; You touch and the door will open, you press a button and all your windows are closed or the security alarm is enabled and will call the police when it finds an intruder. Your refrigerator will notify the grocery shop that your bean stock is out and you need more milk as well.

With a re-makeover of your home, you get high quality kitchen sinks implanted in your kitchen from where the dishwasher will call for maintenance if required. So, everything simply turns easy and your home becomes a smarter one. Although you have to look deep into your pocket for the digital remaking of your home, you still have a chance to change certain things that will also make your home look and feel smarter than the other homes. Also, things will be easier for you if you divide your budget and take a longer plan to remodel your home. You can simply improve the living room decoration and after a couple of months, you catch up with the kitchen. In some cases, this will not require the similar expenses as it would cost in a digital makeover. However, it’s a good idea to keep pace with time and improve the home decoration and utensils and improve quality of life as well with a little touch of technology.
