Opera Jumps to v9.6 of its Devices SDK

Opera, one of the leading providers of browser technologies has announced the jumped leap version of Opera Devices SDK in the ongoing IBT. On 10th September the company announced the SDK’S upgrade from its previous version, it has jumped to v9.6 and claims that there are major differences between this one and the previous.

Nokia Brings Mail for Exchange to s60 3rd Edition

Nokia, the giant mobile manufacturer company has announced it’s support for Mail For Exchange to the users of handsets based on Symbian s60 3rd Edition platform. According to the press relsease on 10th Sep, 43 Nokia S60 3rd Edition devices are said to support the email features of the Exchange which is one of the popular corporate email services.

The owners of Nokia devices whose companies use Exchange for their email can set up Mail for Exchange without paying a penny and this can be done in various ways from the email set-up plug-in on the home screen.  by launching the application from the Download! folder. After initial setup, the application is ready to utilize the current data plan service to get real-time access to office email, calendar, contacts, tasks and company directory over a secure connection.

Exchange ActiveSync protocol is compatible with many types of devices but there are more offers for Nokia users than other Exchange Activesync users because features like setting email priorities, alerts for meeting request conflicts, a standalone global address list application to search for a colleague’s contact details quickly, downloading and editing all types of attachments other than images only, are unavailable in other devices. Palm Fixes Treo 800w’s Software

Palm has announced a software update for its Treo 800w users. The software update is intended to fix up some problems such as usb connectivity or charging the device. If your Treo 800w is not charging after your battery has been fully discharged then the update is for yours 800w. This can happen only if you leave the empty battery without use for a few days.

This update is also required for those whose Treo 800w is unable to detect any in-box USB accessories. However, though this is a minor update, Palm strongly recommends  this software update for all users.

Apple released new software version 2.0.2 for iPhone 3G

It’s only in June when apple launched its 3G version of the predecessor of iPhone. With a great success on the iPhone’s sales iPhone 3G continues to be grabbed by more and more users.

As soon as it was launched, there were some complains in some part of the Europe about the network strength. Therefore, iPhone released new software version 2.0.2 to fix some problems that it was said to be facing. Generally, software updates enhances the user experience of a device.
