Sonyericsson Announces XPERIA™ X1

May 05, 2008 By: izephyr Category: Smartphone Platforms, Technology News

Sony Ericsson has recently revealed it extremely stylish handset that will surely make its mark on the emerging mobile industry. What do I expect in a modern day smartie? Power to control and seamless mobile experience as well as style.

According to Sonyericsson’s website, XPERIA™ X1 is based on Windows Mobile platform and a very impressive hardware though the camera seem to be too poor in comparison to other rivals. In fact, for me a 3.2 megapixel camera is not good enough to compete the multimedia. But the full QWERTY keyboard looks promising, especially with the sliding function rather than Nokia’s E90’s folding keypad seems very sleek and sexy to me.

However, the stainless steel body can give the handset a real stylish look. It appears that sonyeriscsson is trying to reach the enterprise world with its pro features and has less emphasized on the multimedia. I think like most other business series handsets, it will have a lesser performance on multimedia.

Finally, what we get on this 158 grams handset are a QWERTY keyboard, 800 X 480 pixel resolution and 3 inches touchscreen. Along with Windows Mobile’s basic amenities we get the Opera 9.5 browser.

Still time to see how promising Sony’s XPERIA™ X1 will be.
